Jan Recap: Going Analog in Saigon & A Big Business Shift

My monthly newsletter sent at the end of every month, to stay connected and inspire reflection for creating meaningful work and a purpose-driven business.

Hi Reader,

Hello from Saigon! I've been spending January here in Vietnam, and it's been such a lovely way to start the year in a different city, especially to escape the rainy season in Bali.

I also did a REALLY fun thing! I went on a vintage camera photo walk with my partner and some friends, which was a super fun way to explore the city.

We used 1940s cameras to explore the off-the-beaten-track neighbourhoods of Saigon, capturing shots of daily life, different architecture, and the beautiful chaos of the streets.

I just love how analog it was without any instant preview screens like a modern camera, with only have 12 shots in one film roll (and being intentional about only taking a meaningful shot).

We even did a photo developing workshop afterward, working with our hands to bring those images to life. It's been so nice to slow down and do some things the old-fashioned way!

Living in Saigon for 6 weeks has been the best experiment for seeing if it can be another home base in Asia for us.

I've been here three different times now, and each time, I find even more special things to experience in the city.

Here are some snaps of a few special moments:

A few biz updates this month:

🍍 It's been amazing to kick off the year with my first coaching sessions with clients! We're building on all the deep reflections we did together in Q4 of last year, and I'm watching those seeds we planted come into fruition for the first quarter of 2026 - SO stoked for the ideas/projects happening for my clients!

🍍 Big proud mama bear moment with my client who is a perfect example of what's possible. She used to work about 50 hours a week, and now she's down to about 25 hours while making enough revenue for herself. She's been able to make really intentional decisions about outsourcing and team support, keeping her role at a higher strategic consultancy level for the projects she actually wants, without doing the work she's outgrown. Love seeing what "doing less but better" looks like in action!

And speaking of big changes...

I sent an important announcement last week (link to the email if you missed it).

After 12 years of helping people escape the corporate world and build businesses from scratch, I'm evolving my focus.

I'm retiring my programs for beginners and starter businesses to specialize in working with established solopreneurs (people who already have businesses but need help simplifying what they've built).

So, I'm getting ready for the last round of clients in this early stage work of building a business.

If you've been wanting to work with me in the early stages of building your business (still figuring out your offer, building your foundation, in that first year), this is your last chance to work with me on starter programs.

The deadline is February 15th.

I'm offering my Clarity to Launch course at 50% off for this final enrollment, and I have three spots left for 6-month 1:1 coaching. More details in the "Work With Me" section below!

I hope you had a beautiful month!

Hi Reader, I'm writing to you from Pemuteran, up on Bali's northwest coast, where I've been the last few days for a friend's birthday. Getting here took a few hours of driving through parts of the island I don't visit often, and even after living in Bali for as long as I have, there are still these pockets of it that feel completely...

A backcountry Bali hike that led to these beautiful marigolds 🌼 🤩 Hi Reader, August in Bali is our "winter" in the tropics, which means I've actually been able to spend a lot of days outdoors without melting into a pool of sweat.
