My monthly newsletter sent at the end of every month, to stay connected and inspire reflection for creating meaningful work and a purpose-driven business. I'm writing to you from Pemuteran, up on Bali's northwest coast, where I've been the last few days for a friend's birthday. Getting here took a few hours of driving through parts of the island I don't visit often, and even after living in Bali for as long as I have, there are still these pockets of it that feel completely different from each other. Pemuteran is an old fishing village, nothing like the busier parts of the island, and it's put me back in a bit of an exploration mindset about the place I call home. I love getting to be curious about it all over again. We're staying in a cozy little cottage at a retreat perched up on the hills, and it's been so relaxing to have super slow days in nature. How cute is this Japanese style cottage we get to call home for a few days? Our days have been filled with beautiful yoga sessions at sunrise, quiet reading with jazz in the afternoons, and movie nights curled up with everyone (and our trusty guard dog, Matcha). My favourite way to deepen relationships with my friends has always been through a shared experience together. Something that goes beyond just a quick catch up over a meal or coffee. These types of experiences help us create new memories and learn more about each other through doing something new together. On the business side, a lot of the energy I've been pouring into this month has been the work on my own rebrand that I'm doing with my partner Trav, who's a brilliant designer and branding expert. I've been on the journey to retire the Screw the Cubicle name and brand, because it's something that really served me for over a decade, but it's no longer everything of who I am and who I'm becoming right now, in my life and in my business. Instead of building the brand around a problem I solve, we're building it around who I am, my worldview, what I believe, the philosophy I carry, not just the topic people know me for coaching on. That's a different kind of branding than I'm used to. I've built around a product before, I've built around an audience before, but building something around myself as a person is completely new territory. It's been quite meta, honestly. The identity work I do with my clients, that question of what's shifted in you that your business hasn't caught up with yet, is the same work I've been doing on myself this month. I don't have a big reveal for you yet. There are some really cool names and directions we're exploring right now, and I'll keep sharing the process with you as I go through it. Going through this myself has actually given me permission to honour who I'm becoming. -Lydia The business you built and the person running it don't always stay in sync. Maybe the work itself doesn't light you up like it used to. Maybe it still works, but it's costing you too much now. Maybe you've built a Frankenstein business, offers stacked on offers, your best work buried somewhere underneath. Whichever one you're in, it starts with getting honest about what's still yours. If you've been running your business for a few years and something has stopped feeling right, I'd love to talk. A clarity call is free.
⭐ On Building A Life & Business You Love Enough isn’t a ceiling. It’s a compass for how you make decisions in your business. Most of us keep adding more clients, more revenue, more offers because nobody ever hands us the number that would let us stop. You fixed the funnel, sharpened the offer, hired the OBM, and Monday felt exactly the same. This one gets into why the usual fixes don't stick when what's actually happened is you've outgrown the business. → See if this is what's going on for you 🌱 How to Evolve Your Business Without Starting Over You don't have to choose between pushing through and burning the whole thing down. There's a third option, and it starts with figuring out who you've actually become before you touch the strategy. → Read about the third option My friend Megan asked me to be one of 40 business owners contributing to a free resource bundle, and it was an easy yes because everyone in it believes the business should work for you, not the other way around. It's free through September 30th. → Grab the bundle before it closes 💡 Ideas Sparker

Hi, I'm Lydia! I help solopreneurs build tiny but mighty businesses they can run in 25 hours a week or less. Every month, I share real advice on simplifying your business, reclaiming your time, and creating more freedom without sacrificing income.
My monthly newsletter sent at the end of every month, to stay connected and inspire reflection for creating meaningful work and a purpose-driven business. A backcountry Bali hike that led to these beautiful marigolds 🌼 🤩 Hi Reader, August in Bali is our "winter" in the tropics, which means I've actually been able to spend a lot of days outdoors without melting into a pool of sweat. I've been spending a lot of time hiking and having walking dates with friends to soak up the cool days and...
I've been sharing over the last few weeks that I'm focusing my business on established solopreneurs, people who already have businesses but need help simplifying what they've built. And that means I need to make a practical decision about capacity. I can't serve both audiences well at the same time. Beginners need different support than someone who's been in business for 2-3 years +. It's different frameworks, different conversations, and different energy. So I'm choosing to specialize. Which...
I've been working with solopreneurs for over a decade now, and I want to share a pattern I keep seeing. Someone comes to me feeling stuck or overwhelmed in their business. They tell me they need help with marketing, or they need a better system, or they're not sure how to scale. And then we start talking, and I realize...they don't actually need more. They need less. Their business doesn't need to grow. It needs to be simplified. But we're all so conditioned to think that the answer to any...
