My monthly newsletter sent at the end of every month, to stay connected and inspire reflection for creating meaningful work and a purpose-driven business. Hi Reader, February has had a lovely mix of adventure and nesting, which honestly feels like the perfect metaphor for where I am in business and life right now. The month kicked off with a trip to Bangkok with Canadian friends, and it was such a treat to explore this side of the world with people who are seeing it fresh. It reminds me why I chose this life because I just love the ease of hopping between cities, the joy of being a bit of a local guide to the people you love. Then it was back to Bali, and I have fully surrendered to nesting season 🌿 - of course, Scruffy and I reunited and snuggled together! We're still coming out of rainy season, which means more time indoors, and honestly, I'm here for it. I've been slowly turning my home office into more of a sanctuary. I designed a few custom furniture pieces: a yoga and stretch corner for morning movement, and a cozy reading chair I'm claiming as my official morning coffee spot. That cozy chair has also become my recording studio of sorts. My colleague and dear friend Maira Akhter and I have been quietly building something exciting there. More on that below. 👇 A few biz updates bringing joy to my world... 🍍 Small on Purpose Podcast - Maira and I have been recording episodes for our upcoming podcast, launching next month! We're deep in conversation about what it really means to build something intentionally small. It feels so aligned with everything I've been thinking about lately, and I can't wait to share it with you! 🍍 The work I've been doing with clients this month has gone deeper than ever. I've been thinking a lot about what I'm calling "up-growing". It's that moment when you haven't outgrown your work so much as grown into a fuller, more confident version of it. I'm seeing clients step into their expertise at a whole new level and finally owning the depth and wisdom that was always there. It's some of the most meaningful coaching work I've done. Wishing you a beautiful start to March. ☀️ -Lydia Designed To Be Small, on Purpose 🌿 Last year in Saigon, I spent an hour trying to find a hidden coffee shop that required a WhatsApp message, a local guide, and climbing through what felt like someone's living room to get to. One signature drink. Neighbourhood puppies. Completely intentional. In this piece, I share what Hang's tiny, hidden-on-purpose café taught me about the kind of business I want to run. And the question worth sitting with: not "how do I scale this?" but "what do I lose if I scale this?" Something I've been sitting with, and honestly living through in real time, is how much our businesses need to evolve with us. Not just as business owners, but as whole people navigating particular chapters of life. I get honest in this one about midlife, perimenopause, caring for my aging aunt, and building our house from scratch this year, and what all of that means for how I show up in my work. If something about your business feels like a coat that no longer quite fits, this one's for you. 💡 Ideas Sparker

My monthly newsletter sent at the end of every month, to stay connected and inspire reflection for creating meaningful work and a purpose-driven business. Hi Reader, I'm writing to you from Pemuteran, up on Bali's northwest coast, where I've been the last few days for a friend's birthday. Getting here took a few hours of driving through parts of the island I don't visit often, and even after living in Bali for as long as I have, there are still these pockets of it that feel completely...

A backcountry Bali hike that led to these beautiful marigolds 🌼 🤩 Hi Reader, August in Bali is our "winter" in the tropics, which means I've actually been able to spend a lot of days outdoors without melting into a pool of sweat. I've been spending a lot of time hiking and having walking dates with friends to soak up the cool days and...
My monthly newsletter sent at the end of every month, to stay connected and inspire reflection for creating meaningful work and a purpose-driven business. First things first - I had to get my butt into my favourite rock cave spa after being on airplanes and different beds on my one month trip away. Being back in Bali always gives me a sense of ease and comfort. Hi Reader, July was a month of really good people. After spending a month in Europe last month and meeting new lifelong friends in...
